APT MEMBERSHIP
APT is an alliance of individuals and nonprofit organizations whose shared mission is to foster access to affordable, usable high-speed telecommunications services. APT is composed of individuals and advocacy groups who represent many different constituencies, including senior citizens, minorities, education and labor organizations, urban and rural populations, low-income groups, and people with disabilities. Membership is open to individuals, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies or officials who support our vision.
What does APT do?
- APT educates nonprofit groups and the general public about technology and telecommunications services.
- APT brings nonprofit groups, government officials, regulators and industry members together to network on issues and matters of common concern.
- APT researches barriers to access and develops programs and proposals to eliminate those barriers.
- APT brings its program and goals to regulatory officials and legislators entrusted with ensuring the affordability and availability of telecommunications technology.
- APT creates opportunities for industry, government and nonprofit groups to form partnerships that foster greater access.
Our members are an integral part of all of these activities. Our strength is derived from the network of individuals and associations that make up the Alliance.
